Hello, this is my blog. I am writing for my class (psychological and spiritual aspects of healing) and thought it would be great to hear others first hand accounts of mind healing and also any ideas, stories and input from others on the subject.
This is a place to express freely your ideas and beliefs without judgement. Please be respectful and open-minded of others beliefs and ideas. I think the mind is very powerful and has the ability to heal our bodies without any type of medicine through support, listening, and psychological means.
Health and Wellness in a Holistic sense is having over-all balance in mind/body and spirit. I have a book that I have been reading but haven't finished yet called: Mind as healer, Mind as Slayer, by: Kenneth R. Pelletier. If anyone else had read this book please comment and provide insight as well on it's contents. This is what gave me the idea for my title and felt that it tied into this class perfectly.
I had some health issues which i had to address a few years back and it led me down this path of Naturopathic healing and medicine. I can honestly say that Holistic medicine saved my life with the help of my soul and will to be healthy. I changed my diet, career, lifestyle and am by no means perfect but am enjoying a greater quality of life than I ever have. I have little or no health concerns aside from giving myself a concussion last week. I had a lot false beliefs in which needed to be stripped form my mind and replaced with healthy and true beliefs about myself and the environment that I live in. This is to me permanent medicine and has long-term benefits as well as instant results. Most people strive fro happiness but that comes from within and what we need to focus on is something greater than that and happiness comes to us from within. having a purpose in the grand scheme of life can solely have a drastic impact on your health. If one believes their job is useless then they as a person feel useless and unaccomplished.
I have watched a transformation in my own body as well as those close to me who have also chosen to adopt this healthier lifestyle. This is a little about me and feel free to post whatever you would like below. There is no specific topic to discuss just ideas and there are no right or wrong answers. Please be open, honest and respectful of others. Thank you
